OSCAR VALLADARES ALTAR Q SUMATRA – TORO

In our passion and interest for our Honduran ancient roots, especially the Mayan Empire in Copan, which have a fascinating story and its where the tobacco roots came from, we created our rendition to the most important monument in Mayan history “Altar Q”.

We don’t have this packaging in Canada but the idea behind it, is a must share: Altar Q is a special cigar packed in a 16-count box that is a replica of the altar imagery and concept of the monument itself.  Each cigar represents one of the 16 Copan rulers and they are placed in the same order that they appear in the monument.

Named Altar Q, as a reference to a stone alter carved in 776 A.D. that depicts the lineage of Mayan leaders and the divine right of one named Yax Pac to assume the throne. The sculpture was found in 1886 by Alfred P. The cigar has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that covers tobaccos from the Copan region of Honduras. The result is a smoke that is creamy with notes of cedar and light pepper.
